Effective September 15, 2017, you may see changes in the way automatic debits, such as your electric bill, water bill or insurance payments clear your account. This is a result of changes the National Automated Clearing House (NACHA) rule changes and the second phase of Same Day ACH. This allows ACH payments processed by financial institutions such as Civis Bank to possibly pay the payment the same day as originated. This may include a check written at a retailer that is converted into an electronic payment, could clear your account on the same day it is written.
